GOD SAVED HIS CHILD, NOT MINE - An account of a virtually deceased father.

The Status update of facebook was composed in mind: “Simba’s Kiara Has Arrived, She will be officially known to the world as ‘Miara’, which means Wise. Join me to wish Miara A happy life”. It was to be updated as soon as the phone call comes. The name is something that remains throughout the life of a person. That’s why we decided to keep the right of naming Miara exclusively with us. The name Miara was accidently chosen. Instead of typing ‘Miura’, I typed ‘Miara’ in Google and found out the name. We named the foetal stage as Chhoti.

I was thinking of admitting Miara in St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling, whenever she will be in the age of going to a boarding School, because what I feel is that good education is as important for a child a the first breast feed. I even planned to induct her in martial art, which generates tremendous amount of self confidence. I planned a ‘plant a tree and care for it until ur next birthday’ programme and some philanthropy works in her every birthday, so that she would learn to care the surrounding in which she would live. I really wanted to make her a real human being. These days the brain remained engaged in planning different stuffs related to her.

How was I so sure, that the baby is going to be a girl? God knows. From day 1, I told Munni that the baby will be a ‘She’. And I was planning for ‘her’. My eyes were full of dreams. Finally something BIG was gonna happen in life.

But the phone call never came… I thought they will surprise me once I reach hospital. Yes, a surprise was waiting me at the gate of hospital. The surprise that turned my world up side down… that shattered my dreams like a mirror… that completely fragmented me into atoms…

I was coming out of hospital with munni carrying bags, where I was supposed to carry ‘Miara’. A maruti omni van was waiting outside. Rather I would have preferred to lay peacefully in a corpse van.

While leaving from Chittaranjan, I prayed “God pls save the children, if there is a choice to make. First choice should be your child and then mine”. God listened to me. God saved his child not mine

My FB Family

A small status update "Down with Stomachache". Almost immediately a comment flashed on the status msg from Dr. Bianca from Kolkata "Ki holo Dada?" or what happened brother? as if my sister was just in the next room and she did what a doctor does, asked for various sympotms and prescribed medicines over chat. a few mins later, a call from Dr. Bobyjeet, very close photographer friend. Though the communication was incomplete vecause of mobile connectivity problem. with a few seconds, a message flashed in my mobile, which contained a prescription from Dr. Bobyjeet followed by a chat. This followed by some sweet status comments from other friends like suman, subhrajeet, juthi, navojit etc.

How can a person stay down with stomachache having so many sweet friends to look after? i am absolutely okey by evening. i m really over whelmed with the attitude of my online friends whom I have never met but who are very close to me. A "Thank You" wd be the cheapest word, that I can say to them for their reaction after I updated my status today morning. Yes. I live in FB..

IS DISHONESTY CURRENTLY THE BEST POLICY IN INDIA????

Yesterday evening I was calling from my cell phone. After the conversation, my handset showed the call duration as 00.59 seconds. But I was charged for 2 minutes by my service provider (cant state the name of the service provider, as I don’t have any evidence, as the LAST CALL DURATION record gets overwritten when the next call is made.), which is twice the charge. I rang up the customer care. They replied that my last call lasted for 62 seconds and that’s why I was charged for two minutes. It seems, their software is programmed in such a way that every time a call is made, a few seconds is added to the total call duration of the customer and billed accordingly. This is not the first time, I experienced such an experience. It happened many times before too. Some of my friends and colleagues also had such experiences with different cellular service providers and I am sure you too had such experience sometimes sooner or later. Is this the way the multi-billionaire cell-bosses are becoming multi-billionaire? The cell-companies are having over million customers, if the companies cheat a customer once a day (although I was cheated many times on some days), they make millions of Rupees everyday just by cheating. My case was of a prepaid SIM. If you are a post paid customer, only God and cheating Cell-companies know how many times you are cheated, as in case of postpaid customers bills are generated once in a month. Forget Cell-operators, the other sectors are also equally dishonest. That is why, the reputed company like Videocon is banned by World Bank on dealing with them. The saga of Satyam is not unknown to anyone. These unmask the famous Indian dishonesty to the world. Can you name a place where dishonesty has not placed its root? Right from defense dealings to education, from medical sector to IT sector, Indian dishonesty is on a rampage. I too work in an environment where shameless dishonest employees are selling their soul and honesty in a worse way than that a prostitute does. Here, I recall my experience that I experienced while working with a Two Wheeler Company Authorized Dealer (again I can’t disclose the name of the dealer as I do not have any evidence), where the dealer used to increase the Prices of spare parts of two wheelers by 20-30% in the very next month, whenever the sale of the bike used to go down. Really, honesty is probably the cheapest thing that money can buy here in India. Actually India is ruled by foreigners for about 1000 years. In this long spell of time, we were taught to get our works done by hook or crook and to make money in any way – whether it is an honest way or a dishonest way, it doesn’t matter. So, dishonesty has entered in our Genes and we areGenetically Modified Dishonest. That is the only reason why the Multi Crore Stamp Paper Scan, Share Scam, Defence purchase Scams etc happens only in India.  Here you refuel in Petrol Pumps, 95% of their meter will run fast. You ride a taxi in a metropolis, 90% chance you will be over charged. You ask your gas vendor to supply the cylinder at your home on time, you have to count some extra notes. We are very happy in buying smuggled cheap Chinese products, but while buying Indian Products, we try to escape tax. Escaping Income Tax is seen as a heroic activity. On the other hand, are we getting the total benefit that we suppose to get from the amount collected from tax. A Major portion of the money is spent unnecessarily on the Politicians and Bureaucrats It seems almost every Single Indian is dishonest and in this country if you are honest, you are the most fool one.

Collision between the Ships - Another Threat to Olive Ridleys in Orissa Coast.

Splitting of Oil from the MV Malvika has set a serious threat to life of Olive Ridleys in Orissa coast. The collision between an Indonesian Coal carrier and an Indian Marine Vehicle MV Malvika as resulted in the split of oil from MV Malvika, which reports says, has spread over an area of 16 kilometers along the coast in Ganjam District  and the Rishikulya Delta of Orissa.

This time of the year is the nesting season of Olive Ridleys. An estimated two hundred thousand Olive Ridleys has arrived in the Rishikulya Delta of Orissa this year. This year Olive Ridleys have chosen three places  between Gokharkura and Kantiagara as their nesting ground and have laid eggs. Within three weeks from now it is expected that the eggs would be hatched and thousands of lil Ridleys would born. They have a tendency to crawl towards the sea immediately after their birth. And this polluted water would become a serious threat to their life. Infact, environmentalists feel that the eggs may get damaged before they are hatched..
